a great, shaggy, long-horn ram at her side.
With soft knowing eyes
she gazes off toward the horizons,
Her sweet mouth poised and waiting,
in expectation of dreamed of
but untasted passions.
She listens closely.
She has heard a distant call.
On her ivory cheeks and breast
a crimson blush arises.
Her heart flutters for a moment with fear of her own longing,
but longing and curiosity and youthful pride are her friends,
she hesitates,
a heartbeat,
then lifts her chin willingly to the enticing west wind.
